We're looking for another type of Jewish community

We're a couple in our mid-late 30's with two girls, ages 4 years and 7 months. I am a speech-language pathologist with varied experience working for Jewish non-profits in the US and abroad, and a background in drama therapy and Russian language. My husband is a rabbi and a librarian. We both have experience/ training in teaching, grant writing and community programming. We each have particular strengths in writing, public speaking, and teaching challenging material to learners of varied skill levels and backgrounds-- my husband with various Torah topics, and myself with a range of secular topics. Also, we have growing interests in various agricultural and "green living" topics-- urban homesteading, alternative energy, raising fish and livestock, foraging, survival skills, and earth-building techniques.

We're looking for another type of Jewish community from what we've experienced. The phrase that often comes to my mind is, "Cities are not fit for human habitation." Or : We want to raise our children in a Torah environment of YES: Yes, you can run around; Yes, you can make noise; Yes, you can go to the neighbor's house and play with the neighbor's children, (and eat at their table!); Yes, we know and care about those we share our lives with; Yes, we say good Shabbos when we pass another Jew on the street; and Yes, you are surrounded by people who are passionate about living Torah and mitzvos and serving HaShem and making responsible choices. If we need to create something new in order to give our children that life, HaShem, please show us what we need to do to make that happen!
